That nice new home can often look really attractive, and such a good price! This is true but there are a number of factors to consider.

Buying a new home is a little like buying a new car. As soon as you drive that car off the lot you will not be able to sell it for what you paid for it. It is the same with a new home. If you buy a new home you should plan to be in it for at least 5 years.

Don't be fooled by the headline price. The price quotes in advertisements is always 'From'. Often buyers are tempted in with these low prices only to find that they need to pay 10-15% more to get the options they need to live in the house.

The big up-side of buying a new home is that you normally get to choose all the fixtures, fittings and finishes.
